Green Valley Subdivision

This project will primarily include the design of new storm sewers along Cedar Ave to relieve the storm water flows in the back-yard ditch between Cedar and Maywood. Additionally, the large corrugated metal pipes that run on the north side of the project area from Raytown Road to Maywood Ave will be rehabilitated via spot repairs and Cured In-Place Pipe Lining.

Gregory Heights

This project will include the design and construction of a brand-new storm sewer system along Ditzler Ave into Ong Lake. Storm sewers will also be installed on each of the connecting streets in order to collect rainfall and carry it to the main trunk sewer on Ditzler Ave. The open ditch at the south end of Ditzler which connects the street to the lake will be enclosed to provide additional safety and reduce maintenance costs.

G. A. Huth Addition

This project will include new storm sewers in places where currently overland flow ditches are used to convey stormwater from outside the City limits to the ponds. This is intended to reduce standing or flowing water on private properties. Some rehabilitation work on the west bank of Elwood’s Pond will also be completed to stabilize and clean up the bank.

Raytown Manor

This project will include the enclosing of the back-yard ditches between Northern Ave and Harris Ave. This ditch has been incredibly difficult to maintain due to very limited access so enclosing it in piping will allow easier maintenance. Additionally, the open ditch that conveys stormwater flows from 59th Street to the south, between Hedges Ave and Northern Ave, will be enclosed to reduce standing and flowing water on private property.

Additionally, some rehabilitation work on the storm sewers along Hardy Ave will be completed to fix broken and aging infrastructure in this area.

Mayview Addition

This project will include construction of new storm sewer pipes on private properties that will connect 66th Ter to 67th Ter. Currently, the stormwater flow is conveyed via overland flow which results in standing and flowing water on the private properties in this area. The new storm pipes and structures will allow for enclosed stormwater flow and will make it easier for the City to maintain this infrastructure.
